As announced during the Welcome Tea last week, application for NUS BINGO’s 7th Executive Committee’s Election is now OPEN!

Application Procedure:
(1) Send your CV and a short write-up to hr@nusbingo.org by 7th Sept 2008. The short write-up should include a brief self-introduction, stating why you are interested in running for respective position(s), why should you be elected and briefly explain ideas/projects you intend to propose.
(2) You can run for a maximum of 5 positions. Rank your preferences in decreasing order.
(3) Only shortlisted applicants will be notified for an interview, which will be conducted in the 2nd week of September. All shortlisted applicants will be assigned a time slot for the interview.
(4) Applicants passing the interview will stand a chance for the election. During the election, each candidate will give a short speech and the decision will be based upon the number of votes accumulated.
(5) There will be two rounds of elections. During the first round President, Vice President (Internal Affairs) and Vice President (External Affairs) will be selected. People who have the right to vote during first round include committee members of BINGO International, the 6th Executive Committee, alumni who have made special contributions and advisors of NUS BINGO. Should one fail as a candidate running for President, he/she still stands a chance to run for Vice President or any other EXCO position(s). However, one can only run for max 5 positions.
The second round of election will be conducted in the Annual General Meeting (AGM), electing all the EXCO positions other than President and Vice Presidents. All NUS BINGO members will be invited to vote for their favorable candidates. Please note that one vote of a current EXCO member will be equivalent to 5 votes of ordinary members.
Please send in your application ASAP and state clearly the position(s) you intend to run for. We look forward to your participation in the election. You may email us at hr@nusbingo.org if you have any queries regarding the election.

The BINGO International Conference aims to bring together aspiring entrepreneurial students from universities in Vietnam, Singapore, China and Indonesia. In collaboration with The Salvation Army, NUS BINGO is extending an invitation to all socially responsible and passionate volunteers to come forward and show their heartfelt support to homeless children and abandoned elderly.
As we all know children are innocent, trustful & full of hope and their childhood should be joyful and loving. But for many children the reality of childhood altogether presents a different picture. Many children still have limited opportunities for basic necessities of life. Many impoverished children want to make their own identity but can’t succeed due to lack of financial and most importantly emotional backing.
It’s time to realize your potential for social welfare; don’t let them sacrifice their dreams. Give them your warm support; help them with Academic Mentoring, Training & Service Work and Administrative Support. It will be a spiritually rewarding experience and a meaningful way to dedicate your time to elderly-care services, youth services and children & family services.
Under this project, you are offered the flexibility to choose either one-off activity or semester long volunteering.
