NUS Motorola Technopreneurship Challenge 2003

The NUS Motorola Technopreneurship Challenge was one of the very first initiative that brought NUS BINGO to light. It was a unique business plan competition jointly organized by BINGO and the Faculty of Engineering, NUS. The event received generous funding from Motorola. The winners of the competition were successful in taking away numerous other awards at various global forums like Megabucks 2004 Entrepreneurship Competition held at IIT Kanpur (India) and Startup@Singapore.

The closing ceremony for the event was graced by Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Minister for Education, Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam in his closing speech for the event said,

motorola1.jpg“Through competitions like this one, we are giving our students an opportunity to think about the commercial applications of science and technology, and to get the hang of what it takes to think like an entrepreneur. They will learn about the many factors that determine whether a business plan eventually succeeds or fails. They learn that there is no one formula to becoming a successful entrepreneur”.
