Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports, and Second Miniter for Trade and Industry, remarked:
“But what is Entrepreneurial Spirit? It is not just about starting up a new business. It is about seeking and seizing opportunities to make a difference. It is about having the courage to take calculated risks and having the proper attitude to be able to bounce back from failure. It is really about people, passionate individuals, like all of you here today, who dare to take risks to pursue their ideas, to be creative and to have the tenacity to make things happen.”“At the student level, the NUS Business Incubation of Global Organizations (BINGO), a 3-year-old Singapore initiated club, has also responded to need to foster entrepreneurial spirit within the NUS student community. BINGO is the first and the youngest student club to organize such entrepreneurial events, as today’s Centennial Entrepreneurial Award and the Motorola Business Writing Competition in South East Asia.”
